Spiral scrolling works for me. I have a synaptics driver as mentioned in the post.

hi,
have anyone used a spiral scrolling on touchpad? i used to have one, it was enabled/disabled by dell touchpad settings, but after updating my system it's gone. i've tried different drivers, alps and synaptics, now i have alps from dell support centre for vostro 1320, and everything works just fine, except for spiral scrolling.
any ideas where to get it?

The main post solved my problem for the video card, but i can't use my scroll zones.
- The Windows Update installed Synaptics, but no scroll
- The last Synaptics for Win7 64 has the same behavior
- The Alps driver works (for some seconds), after to move my cursor to somewhere it stops and freezes. I need to switch to another window or to change some config in Dell Mouse configs (using keyboard ^^) in order to make it back (for some more seconds)

Today i'm using the driver from Synaptics website, without scroll.

i just reinstalled my dell vostro 1320 using win7 64bit, everything works out of the box!
i only need to update the drivers for intel GM45 and the touchpad.

I have installed windows 7 ultimate.My webcam is not picking up. I could not get the driver for webcam to solve the problem.Similary audio when connected to external speaker is ok but with system speaker lots of noice.Hope sombody may have the similar nature problem

Hi, I have installed wibndows 7 professional on my dell vostro 1310 and it's working pretty fine, except for the audio. I have tried many drivers and none worked. Dell support says they don't have 64 bit drivers for Vostro...

Does anybody can help me?

Well, the webcam works here with Win7 Enterprise x64. I'm not sure why people are having problems, I didn't isntall any drivers (except possibly those installed by Windows Update, I didn't pay attention).

Hey, Thanks for the address of Nvidia drivers and Combined Community Codec Pack.

I did install windows 7 ultimate N (64 bit) on my Vostro 1310. Thouch pad and Ge Force work properly But I have problem with webcam and wireless and bluetooth.

Is there any suggestion?

I did install windows 7 on my vstro 1310. the only problem i have is cannot see dual monitors. ie i coonected another monitor to my laptop. but at a time it only shows one monitor. cannot see another one in display properties.

another issue is changing brightness is not possible. in vista sp1 they fixed this issue, looks like its back in windows7

Hey guys, got it for the Realtek HD drivers! Just pick the same drivers you were using on Vista but this time, right click on installer file and in Properties->Compatibility, select to run on compatibility mode for Windows Vista, and voila!

i also had very high system usage, after installing win7 64bit on my vostro 1310.
installing dell's chipset driver updates solved the problem
as mentioned before, vostro 1320 touchpad driver works fine

i also noticed a drop in battery capacity! (- ~30min!)
don't know how to solve this problem??

Hey guys, don't worry. I also have a Vostro 1310 running Win7 Ultimate and was worried about touchpad drivers since updating with Windows ended up installing Synaptics drivers. Just install the Dell Touchpad driver for Vostro 1320 (new model replacing Vostro 1310)from Dell Support site, choosing Win 7 as OS. Works like a charm! Still looking for Realtek HD Audio driver though...

Windows 7 is not compatible with Dell Vostro 1x20s. Please see the TechNet thread below about touchpad failures under windows 7:
The Mighty Mouse does not report whether the right and left sensor is activated simultaneously. In fact, it reports a right-click only when there is no finger contact on the left side of the mouse. This means that the Mighty Mouse cannot support mouse chording, used by CAD software, games, and other applications where multiple functions are mapped to the mouse.

Find a better media player :). I'd suggest the Combined Community Codec Pack, which includes a very lightweight and simple player.

I think we need video drivers. Because system usage goes insanely to 75% on playing video. But I could not find video drivers anywhere. Any thoughts?
